Why MQTT Flex might be the right choice for IoT communication:

Bring Your Own SIM

There are tremendous efficiencies to be gained with our MQTT broker and messaging platform. At the same time, cellular technology users may be content with their existing connectivity, already have a relationship with the network operator, or simply don’t want to swap to an MQTT Anywhere IoT SIM card for operational, logistical, or business reasons. MQTT Flex offers the ability to ‘Bring Your Own SIM’ card while also realizing all the other advantages of IoT Communication-as-a-Service. 

Project-required connectivity

Certain projects specify the required connectivity for the deployment. This can be the case with utility metering, where government or local municipalities might mandate use of a local network operator. MQTT Flex allows compliance to the project requirement along with the efficiencies of MQTT-SN communication.

NB-IoT technology

MQTT Anywhere uses on roaming agreements to achieve global connectivity. The current lack of global roaming agreements and slow progress toward same for NB-IoT radio technology often excludes the use of the MQTT Anywhere with NB-IoT.   Certain IoT use cases require specialized NB-IoT features, for example when enhanced coverage is required, either deep in-building or below ground. MQTT Flex brings NB-IoT connectivity to the IoT communication equation.

Permanent roaming restrictions

Certain network operators and regions do not allow what is called ‘permanent roaming’, which means the constant use of a global roaming SIM card within the country’s home network. With MQTT Flex, IoT projects can use our MQTT-SN IoT communication solution with home network connectivity.
